Updates on HL Channels

Missions can be presented in different channels

Channel gathers a set of thematically missions, and missions are connected  in other channels.

Missions would be organized by HL in channels; nevertheless Participants would be able to choose different missions from different channels at all times following their own judgment and their own learning paths.
In their profile, participants would be able to create their own HL itinerary
training (portfolio) from the missions achieved in different channels.

________________________________________________

formación (portfolio) a partir
de las misiones alcanzadas en diferentes canales.

Channels are born at Hybrid Learning

==> Thematic channels will be created and they can be promoted by agents or institutions.

==> The channels will be linked to a theme.
For instance:
Social media marketing channel.
Institution channel

==> Channels may be associated to badges.

==>  Missions can be promote taking the channels into account. These missions will work as independent units linked thematically to a channel.

==> Agents can promote missions and it will be Hybrid Learning’s job to organize them around channels.

Why Hybrid Learning?

Because......... learning happenes hybridly.

What makes a good task?

Clear objective
Include feedback on how the task went
Fun & Replayability
Solving-problem
You can communicate with others (facilitator, other participants, etc.)
A clear concept of the benefit you get from it

What makes a good module?

A coherent group of missions
An organized group ogf missions
Clear learning goal
Motivating “need to know"
A clear concept of the benefit you get from it

What makes a good badge?

1.      Badges should add extra value

Badges can add value in three basic ways:
by giving a unique identifier for a self-claim making it global
by having quality processes in place for something awarded
by plotting out good path ways to something desirable

2. Badges should be able to provide evidence

3. Badges need to be clear, specific, and unambiguous

What makes a good course?

  • A clear learning goal
  • A motivating “need to know"
  • A clear concept of the benefit you get from it
  • Clear objectives and expectations
  • Chunking the course  down into missions and tasks
  • Inspiration from others
  • Assessments based on evidences
  • Badges
  • Learning from "others"
  • Keeping it simple
  • Testing and welcoming fed-back

learning from the others...Open Badges in P2PU School of Webcraft

Open badges...... because learning happenes everywhere

What makes a good mission?

  • Complex problem with a simple setup
  • Clear goals
  • A “need to know”
  • Embedded assessment
  • Smartools
  • Meaningful achievements
  • A sense of risk-taking and exploration
  • Sense of autonomy
  • Different solutions to the same problem
  • Fun & Replayability

Questions for today...What makes a good course? What makes a good mission?

  • What makes a good course?
  • What makes a good module?
  • What makes a good mission?
  • What makes a good task?
  • What makes a good badge?

In other words….what is that makes a course / mission / tasks a good one when it comes to non-formal education environments?
We will be discussion all these questions that will help us to build up Hybrid Learning

What is that makes a course a good one when it comes to non-formal education environments?

We will discuss this today here....any comments are more than welcome!

What is Hybrid Learning?

The project
Hybrid Learning's  model aims to hack traditional forms of learning in digital environments in order to reach more people. This model will provide people with higher quality skills, and it will involve more groups of people because it is a flexible model that adapts to everyone’s needs. Moreover, it will allow each participant to customize their learning experience.

Who is it for?
People, organizations, groups, institutions ... and all those who are interested in:
- Sharing knowledge openly.
- Acquiring the skills and abilities to access to new opportunities.
- Appling new models and new forms of granting knowledge acquired at digital environments.

Educational Model
Modular design
Internet offers multiple options to access to different learning experiences. In the same why that happens with digital music consumption (in which you can enjoy albums, individual songs or even components of those songs), on-line learning can allow participants to be trained in the skills that matter most for them, choosing exactly what it is relevant for them.

Learning on demand
Hybrid Learning  consists of different courses, thematic units and learning sequences. Participants can register at any of these levels to get the skills that they want with a flexible learning system which is customizable at all times. In all of these cases, badges will ensure the recognition of the knowledge acquired.

Accreditation based on badges
All the skills and competences acquired by participants will be accredited by Learning Openly badges, which have academic validity.
Technical model
- The entire system is web accessible.
- The speed of access is guaranteed.
- All servers are in the cloud, providing the service globally. The system can be installed without Internet access centers.

Who is behind  Hybrid Learning
The main driver is the "CyberSociety Observatory," an international organization that provides discussion on social aspects generated by digital technologies.
